Build Community and Make Change: Fiber Art & Social Justice

Join the National Art Educators Association for this free, interactive Zoom session with Shannon Downey, author of "Let's Move the Needle". We will  explore the intersection of social justice and fiber art. The session will include a presentation, discussion and  guided art making.

Participants will engage in meaningful conversation and hands-on creative experiences that can be brought directly into the classroom to help students better understand the power of fiber art as a tool for social change and community connection around the world.

This session is designed for art educators working with students in grades K–12 and beyond and is available for all members of the following art education associations: Art Educators of Minnesota (AEM), Illinois Art Education Association (IAEA), Kansas Art Education Association (KAEA), Missouri Art Education Association (MAEA) & Ohio Art Education Association (OAEA).
